Week 14, like the rest of the 2025 season thus far, was a bit of a doozy. We almost saw the end of the original Survivor pool, and the Second Chance was cut in half again. After mentioning the dearth of perfect weeks we’ve had in the SuperContest, someone went out and earned one, knocking the share price down a fair bit. The popular pick in the Loser pool won, causing a standings shake up.
SuperContest
Of course, as soon as I mention we’ve had very few perfect weeks, we end up with another. Wes put up his 2nd on the season, so he’s currently looking at half the perfect week pot. If this holds up, his lower entry may end up outperforming his one in contention.
Things are a little tighter at the top with Beast from the West (Wes) and Gut Check Time (Corey Carley) picking up points on the leaders and jumping over Sunday Funday (Ryan Howard).
The Rams and Commanders were tied for the popular pick on the week, with 7 selections each. The Rams held up, but the Commanders got dog-walked by a trash Vikings team after showing some life against Denver the prior week.
Survivors
It was a rough week in the Survivor pools as 6 of the 8 remaining entries across both pools took the L this week, all on Tampa Bay. Fortunately, for those in the main pool, they all lost, so we continue on. Congrats to Commish and Dorner for being the final two squads in the 2nd chance pool. I’m sure there will be plenty of second guessing each pick the rest of the way.
Loser
Over half of the pool were on either side of the Texans/Chiefs game this week with the Texans having 3/4s of those picks. I guess Washington’s effort in Week 13 and getting their QB back scared most of the pool off of them. The Pootsa continue their hot streak with another 31 points this week, and could have themselves in contention in no time at the rate they’re going. Top score of the week was the lone Philly ‘backer’, Humdinger. Rita and Pete Ironside were the big jumpers on the week, climbing 10 spots each to get into the top 10 and in contention.
