The first pool of the NFL season wrapped up this weekend, which was impressively enough, the final one to start, as Commish (Mike Bryce) took down the 2nd Chance Survivor for his 2nd all-time pool win - both in Survivor. The win made Commish the 16th person with multiple outright pool wins and has him up to 21st in the all-time money list (well, since 2012 anyway). On to the recaps!

A bit of a shake up near the top of the standings, as Wes and Corey jump into the payout spots (top 3), with Kyle dropping to 4th after a rough 1-point week. There weren’t any perfect weeks, but Rick (yeah, third person - what of it?) extended the overall lead to 4.5 points, and Jon jumped the most positions as they each managed 4 of 5 correct.

Of the top 3 picks (GB, BUF, DAL), only Buffalo managed a cover. It didn’t look good early as half of the internet had posted eulogies for the Bills season at half-time, only to have them roar back for the win and the cover.

As mentioned at the top, Mike Bryce outlasted Chris Dorner to win the 2nd Chance Survivor, thanks to a raucous Saints comeback to knock off Dorner’s selection, the Panthers. Commish didn’t have much of a sweat in the late window, as the Niners cruised against the hapless Titans. He’s now 6th all-time in Survivor winnings, although that could change once the full-season Survivor wraps.

In the main Survivor pool, the picks were spread out across 3 teams (PHI, JAX, SF), and all 3 won, so we proceed with 4 entries on to Week 16. I haven’t taken much of a look into the schedule or who has what teams remaining, but this thing seems to want to go right down to the wire.

It was another tough week in the Loser pool, with only 13 entries picking up points, 10 of which had the Lions season going up in smoke. A solid 28 points for all who had them, but tops on the week was Commish and Petey with the Chiefs loss. I think more people were excited to dump on the Chiefs than those crapping on the Bills. An impressive run of 7 straight Conference finals appearances comes to an end. Petey used the L to climb 7 spots in the standings, along with 3 other entries.

Thanks to the people I hit up for their feedback on the logos. I think it turned out pretty well, and I’m looking forward to getting the actual site up, and doing some other stuff with it. Stay tuned.
