Only one game remains for our 2025 Football Pools, and everything is pretty much settled. There’s only one change possible in the Loser Pool, and there are 3 people making the payout in the Playoff Pool no matter what happens, with a potential 4th TBD.

Before we get to the big game I just want to thank everyone for their participation this season. It’s always a blast talking football and discussing the pools with a number of you through the year.

Loser

With a team only worth 4 points remaining, things are pretty much locked up. I can’t be knocked out of the top spot either way, with Seattle only being worth 18, and Nick Moumos can’t finish worse than 3rd either. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that it’s going to finish Rick, Josh and Nick. This will be my first time cashing in the Loser pool since a second place in 2015. Josh finished in the money last season, while it will be Nick’s first time cashing.

Playoff

The Seahawks win seals cashes for Jason Hunwicks (a serious reversal of fortune from the SuperContest), Rita Thomas and Scott Shedden. The question is will they finish 1st and a tie for 2nd or will it be 2nd and a 3 way tie for third? Jason takes the crown with a Seattle victory (and they were a decent favourite when I checked this morning), while Chris Carruthers wins with a Pats championship. Chris is the only entry with a Pats win, while 4 are on the Hawks. Kyle is the odd man out in a Seattle win, thanks going 0-for the AFC in the Divisional round.

On Deck

  • The Super Bowl in 2 weeks wraps things up for the 2025 football season.

  • The Dinger Derby is mostly ready to go. It will be available March 1st.

  • If anyone has a solid March Madness pool they run, let me know.

Shoutouts

Well done to Nick Salaris. After a brutal first half in the Loser Pool, he went on a solid run to get him close to contention. He was 31st out of 33 entries at the halfway point, and managed to get as high as 7th. A little inspiration for those that might think they’re out of it after a tough stretch to start.

One Last Thing

If you’re in an NFL pool that’s been moved to Splash from RYP or OFP, and your pool manager isn’t thrilled about the changes they’ve made, shoot me a message.
